I’ve been testing the 30 meters fiber cable from my PC (nVidia GeForce 980Ti) to my Denon AVR-X3300W amp which connects to my LG OLED C8 television. Now I can confirm it supports the full 18Gbit, so it’s the real deal! 4K 60Hz 12bit HDR using chroma 4:2:2 without any disturbances, flickering or lag !This is really amazing for almost 80 bucks especially if you compare it to the 500dollar other fiber cables. However there’s one annoying thing… once I plug it into my Denon AVR-X3300W amp, all HDMI-CEC devices stop working immediately. This is my current setup:Normally when I turn on my LG tv, it automatically turns on the Denon amp and my cable box which is also connected to the amp.Everything works great as I can control my cable box with my tv’s remote and when I turn my tv off, everything turns off as well. Also when I open some app on my tv (e.g. youtube or netflix), the Denon amp automatically switches to „TV-Audio“ (ARC) so I get the audio from my speakers. Now all of the above stops working once I plug in the Atzebe cable… which is a pitty. However I’ve fixed it by getting myself a CEC-less adapter plug and now everything works great.I don’t need CEC from my PC as it doesn’t support it anyways but it’s important to know that HDMI-CEC from this cable will probably mess up your existing CEC-configuration if you’re using multiple devices.I think the reason for this is because the Atzebe has the CEC-address hard-coded to a certain value. So I think CEC should work fine when you connect your favorite device (e.g. mediaplayer) directly to your tv’s hdmi port without an amp in between.Other cables such as the Celerity HDMI fiber cables do support CEC-negotiation between both devices, since I use one of these for connecting my Denon amp to my television. However the Celerity is much more expensive and hard to get outside of the US.So for me the Celerity has the „full“ package as it makes CEC working properly with multiple devices. The Atzebe „probably“ has CEC working when you connect something straight to your television, but I haven’t tested this for myself.Just my 2 cents..
