My Jeep was bought used and had a block off plate instead of a spare tire. I wanted to put a spare tire back on the rear hatch, so I had to replace the plugs with these rubber tire bumpers. I don’t know what the original ones look like, but these fit well and keep keep the tire from bouncing against the paint, so I guess they work. I did have to push and twist to get them to seat properly, and they will pop back out with a minimal pull, which is what some of the other reviewers may have experienced. Depending on the size of your tire, this may not be as big of an issue as 35s are squishing them a bit so they won’t fall out, though with heat and cool cycles from weather, I can see them reforming to their current smooshed shape which means they will probably have to be replaced from time to time.
